Bona fide requirement of landlord

— Corporate body/juristic person — Meaning of <169>own occupation<170> or <169>residential purpose<170> in respect of body/such person — Held, said terms in such a context include use of premises for non-commercial purposes — A juristic person (in this case a society) cannot have any residential requirement in respect of a premises, and its activities will have to determine nature of its use of a premises — A juristic person cannot have need of residence but may use a premises for non-commercial purposes — On facts, respondent Society intending to use premises in question for running a library without any profit for itself for a non-commercial purpose, unconnected with any business or trade, must come within ambit of words <169>for his own occupation<170> in respect of residential building, as provided for under S. 13(3)(a)(i) of the 1973 Haryana Rent Act, (2006) 5 SCC 437
