— Qualifying service — Service in military followed by civil employment — Computing period of military service for pensionary entitlements — Conditions for, under the relevant service rule i.e. R. 4(iii) of the Punjab Government National Emergency (Concession) Rules, 1965, restated — Held, where there is gap of more than three years between the date of discharge from military service and the date of appointment to the service/post under the Govt., there is no scope for including the said period for the purpose of working out the pensionary entitlements — Said period has to be reckoned between the date of discharge up to the date of appointment irrespective of the fact as to when the process of selection had started or when the employee concerned had undergone training, (2006) 5 SCC 688
