Generally

— Deemed purchase of land by tenant on tillers' day — Scheme of provisions of Ss. 31, 31-B, 31-C, 31-D, 32, 32-F and 32-G of Bombay Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 — Where landlord, a widow, exercised her right of termination of tenancy and secured possession of half of the tenanted land for personal cultivation under S. 31(1) r/w S. 31-B(1), then no right would survive under S. 31(3) to her or her successor-in-title to seek the remaining land for personal cultivation by giving notice of termination of tenancy in view of bar under S. 31-C — When S. 31(3) thus ceased to apply, S. 32-F(1-A) requiring the tenant to give intimation of his desire to exercise his right to purchase the remaining land, would also become inapplicable — Tenant will continue to be in possession of the remaining land in respect of which rent will have to be fixed under S. 31-D, until purchase price is determined under S. 32-G(5) and is paid by the tenant-purchaser, (2006) 7 SCC 200
